6/25/2012 Marx

The central theme of this article is the rising/falling of the bourgeoisie and the rise of the proletariat. The article talked about the development of the bourgeoisie and the boost in industry and the markets, and how the development was also accompanied by a corresponding political advance. The bourgeoisie created more massive productive forces than all the preceding generations together. Because the bourgeoisie forged the weapons that bring death to itself, it has also created the modern working class - the proletarians. The proletariat went through various stages of development, and eventually they sought to restore the status of the workman of the Middle Ages. The idea has meaning now because it is part of history.
